10 KILLER GIFTS TO GET YOUR BOYFRIEND FOR CHRISTMAS!

Christmas will be here before you know it! That means getting together with friends and family and getting just the right gift for your sweetie. You’re all set to get out there and shop, shop, shop, but wait … do you even know what to get your boyfriend for Christmas?

Men can be really difficult to buy for. Face it: you can’t just get your man a beauty voucher or some nice candles. And many guys just aren’t forthcoming about what they want. It’s best if you can individualize your present to make your guy feel special. And only you know exactly what suits him.

But, just in case you’re feeling overwhelmed and can’t come up with anything, we’ve put together 10 suggestions for Christmas presents for your boyfriend.

1. A NICE SHIRT

You probably know what types of shirts your guy wears. Head on over to the mall, and go to a nice shop for this Christmas present for your boyfriend. If he wears dress shirts, get him one or two of those. If not, he might like a nice sweater.

2. SEASON TICKETS TO HIS FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM

Is your guy a big sports fan? Get him season tickets to his favorite team. And this Christmas present for your boyfriend can benefit you as well when he asks you to go with him to the games. This makes a great anniversary gift, too!

3. AFTERSHAVE/CONDITIONING BEARD OIL

Either he shaves or sports a beard. Either way, you can buy him products to pamper his skin and make him smell great. You can go to the men’s section of your fave makeup store or go to a specialty shaving shop to get him some shaving gel and aftershave conditioner. If he has a beard, get him some conditioning beard oil to make his beard smell good and feel soft.

4. A FLASK

A flask makes a great gift because it’s a keepsake that is also useful. There are many different styles that let you can customize the flask to something he’d like. You can even even get one engraved with his name, with a note from you or with a quote.

5. A SWISS ARMY KNIFE

Most guys like gadgets and knives. The Swiss Army knife combines both. It’s a multi-tool: a knife with a sharp blade along with other useful tools, such as a screwdriver, a nail file, a scissors and a can opener. You can get one in all sorts of colors and designs besides the standard red.

6. A KITCHEN KNIFE

If your guy likes to cook, get him a chef’s knife. These knives are impressive, and he can use it as a general-utility knife. Plus, he can show off his great knife skills as he prepares a nice dinner for you.

7. ESPRESSO MACHINE

Does he love coffee? It can be expensive buying a cup of coffee that a fancy barista whips up. If he needs a coffee fix, consider getting him an espresso/cappuccino machine.

8. A HIGH-QUALITY WALLET

The type of wallet a man carries says something about him, probably because it represents money and important documents. Get him a wallet he can be proud to whip out of his pants. The bi-fold wallet is smaller and thinner than the tri-fold. The bi-fold, therefore, will probably be more comfortable for him. Leather wallets are standard, but if he’s an athlete, he might prefer a nylon wallet. Most wallets are brown or black. Black, in feng shui, corresponds with wealth and prosperity, so that might be the better choice.

9. A WATCH

Watches mean as much to some men as shoes mean to women. They are one of the few ways a man can show who he is. A watch is a personal item, so there are some things to consider before you choose a watch for your boyfriend.

  • Casual and sporty: These watches are the least expensive. They are usually made from metal with some plastic parts. They are typically water-resistant with thick hands.
  • Automatic casual: These watches are mid-range for expense. They could be stainless steel, titanium or leather.
  • Formal or designer: These watches are very expensive and men can wear them to any executive board meeting.

10. A COUPLE’S MASSAGE

If you’re in a relationship, a couple’s massage makes a great gift. You’ll both enjoy the massage experience. Just make sure you don’t have to rush back to work after. The massage will get you so relaxed that you’ll probably think of a better activity you can do after besides work.

WHAT NOT TO GET YOUR BOYFRIEND

It matters what to get your boyfriend for Christmas and what not to get him, depending on the sort of relationship you have. It’s never a good idea to spend too much on your boyfriend early on in the relationship, even if you can afford it. This sends the message that you don’t need him and that you’re flaunting your wealth, neither of which display feminine energy. Unless you want to set the stage early on that you will take care of him, keep the gifts simple at first. But even simple gifts can go wrong.

Here are some things you definitely should not get for your boyfriend.

1. A SWEATER IF HE NEVER WEARS ONE

It can be tempting to buy your guy a sweater—they’re everywhere you look when you go shopping. But if you’ve never seen him in a sweater, it’s probably because he doesn’t want to wear one. Skip this gift.

2. A PICTURE FRAME WITH A PHOTO OF THE TWO OF YOU

You might think this makes a great gift, but he might feel as if you’re being too pushy. This gift is reserved for people who are in a long-term relationship. The exception? A photo of the two of you if you’re in a long-distance relationship.

3. SOCKS

Boring. Unless you’re married and routinely give each other useful gifts as stocking stuffers, you should skip the socks as a real gift.

4. A MEMBERSHIP TO A GYM

Unless he specifically told you he wishes he had a gym membership, avoid this gift. He might feel obligated to hit the gym, even if he doesn’t want to, and he might take this gift the wrong way…He may think his body isn’t good enough for you.

5. A NICE CANDLE

Just because you love candles doesn’t mean guys like receiving them as gifts. Even if he is under stress, a candle is just one of those gifts that should be reserved for your girlfriends or your mom.

6. HOME DÉCOR ITEMS

Items that he can use to decorate his home are too presumptuous a gift to get your boyfriend. He’ll take this as your trying to mark your space, and that can be a real turn-off.

7. COUPLES ACTIVITIES (OTHER THAN MASSAGE)

You know you have an ulterior motive for buying him a series of couple’s dance lessons. The problem is that he knows it too. He might not want to engage in whatever couple’s class you signed up for, so he might not be thrilled to get this gift that he figures is really a gift for you.

You might want to ask his close friends or his family members to give you some ideas for what to get your boyfriend for Christmas. And remember that we don’t know your boyfriend. The suggestions we provided might work for your guy, and they might not. This is true of most relationship advice, however.

He might prefer you showing your love rather than buying a gift. If you’re short on funds, consider some DIY gifts for your man.

When it comes to buying Christmas presents for your boyfriend, you probably know best. If you have an idea that you think he’ll like, go for it! Happy holidays!
